Rotate

Description

Turns an object around a fixed point as specified in the action’s Parameters. Objects are rotated in degrees, and the value entered for the angle field should be a number without units (e.g., entering 45 rotates the object 45 degrees). When multiple objects are selected, they are rotated as a group based on their bounding box.

Works On
This action works on objects within the current spread.
Changes Selection
This action does not change the selection.

Location

The Rotate action is located in the Fuga Workshop panel under the Object actions category.

Parameters

Angle Field
Specifies the angle by which to rotate. 

  • (number) The angle to rotate by in degrees as a negative or positive number. This number can also be formed using a numerical variable, or an expression. See article on expressions for more information.
Anchor Drop-down
Specifies the location around which the object is rotated. This point is positioned is in reference to the bounding box containing all the objects. 

  • Top Left – Default. Places the anchor point in the top left corner of the objects’ bounding box.
  • Top Right – Places the anchor point in the top right corner of the objects’ bounding box.
  • Bottom Left – Places the anchor point in the bottom left corner of the objects’ bounding box.
  • Bottom Right – Places the anchor point in the bottom right corner of the objects’ bounding box.
  • Center – Places the anchor point in the vertical and horizontal center of the objects’ bounding box.
  • Custom Point – Places the anchor point at custom coordinates.

Custom Rotation Point Fields

Specifies the x and y coordinates of the custom anchor point. This parameter will only appear if Custom Point is selected from the Anchor menu. These values are automatically in the units used by the document ruler. If units are entered, an error will be raised.

x Field
(number) the x coordinate of the custom anchor point.
y Field
(number) the y coordinate of the custom anchor point.
