Move

Description

Moves the selected objects. Objects can be moved by a specific amount, to a specific position, or to the same position as another object. Objects are aligned by their top-left corners. Units should not be inserted for the x and y parameters, as the units from the document ruler are used. In order to move the selected objects to another object, that other object must be given an object name.

Parameters

Move Type

Move Type Drop-down
Specifies how to move the selected objects.

  • Move By – Moves the selected objects by a specific amount.
  • Move To – Moves the selected objects to a specific position, aligning the top left corner of the selected objects’ bounding box to the position. If the objects are on a page in a spread, the position is in respect to the page the objects are on. If the object is on the pasteboard of a spread the position is in respect to the active page.
  • Move To Object – Moves the selected objects to another single object, as specified in the Move To Object parameters, aligning the top left corner of the selected objects’ bounding box to the top left corner of the single object. Also provides the option to resize the selected objects to the object being moved to. The Align action provides similar functionality, with more control over alignment but without the option for resizing in the same action.

Move To/By Values

Specifies by how much to move the object, or the coordinates to move the object to. These parameters are visible when the Move By or Move To option is selected from the Move Type drop-down menu. Fuga uses the units from the document ruler.

Move To Object Parameters

Specifies which object to move the selected objects to, and if the selected objects should resize or not. These parameters are visible when the Move To Object option is selected from the Move Type drop-down menu. If multiple objects are found, the flow will not know which object to move to and an error will be raised.

Object Name Field
(string) The object name of the object to move the selected objects to.
In Parent Field
(string) The name of the Super Group in which to search for the object to move to. If left blank, Fuga will search for the object in the entire current spread or active page.
Search Objects inside the Active Page Only Check-box
Specifies if Fuga should search for the object to move to in the active spread or only in the active page.

  • Unchecked – Searches for the object in the active spread. This includes the pasteboard (i.e., the area around the pages).
  • Checked – Default. Searches for the object only within the active page. This does not include the pasteboard.
Resize to the Same Object Check-box
Specifies if the selected objects should resize to the object being moved to.

  • Unchecked – Default. Does not resize the selected objects.
  • Checked – Resizes the selected objects to the object being moved to. If a Super Group is resized it’s children will resize according to the Super Group’s resizing parameters in the Object Panels
